Low tech
A simple, dedicated notebook to write down your passwords should work. This is almost an immediate go-to as passwords tend to evolve from post-it to a secret notebook early on.
- Pro: Cheapest and easy to use.
- Con: Not available via the Web.
For some time now, companies have been hoping your short term memory issues and disdain for writing implements have prepared you for their online solution. Yes, keeping your passwords protected online is recommended as well. Here are some known services: Zoho Vault, Sticky Password, Dashlane, and Keeper.
- Pro: Access your passwords from anywhere.
- Con: Paid service. I'm not sure that I would trust a free service.
If you're using a free service and it's turned out to be reliable, sans any issues, please let me know. So, how do you keep track of all those passwords?
I'm the worst about keeping track of passwords. I usually have three that I rotate through. It's certainly not the best, but it's easy for me to remember.
ReplyDeleteAlso LOVE the Lunch Bytes concept! Sometimes a quick blog post is better to read than a longer one. I know when I need brain breaks I look for post about the size of yours... long enough to get a point across but also short enough not to overload the brain.
I'll be looking forward to the next edition!
Awesome, and thanks for the encouragement! I hope that I can provide some useful info.
